LONG LAMA, Baram: Orang Ulu National Association (Ouna) president Dato Abu Bakar Abdullah has called on the Orang Ulu community to understand the establishment and struggle of the association including Federation of Orang Ulu Associations of Sarawak, Malaysia (Forum).

“They should be the platforms to unite and bring together the community and its sub-ethnic group. As a minority group both Ouna and Forum are the platforms to voice out our aspirations, needs and grudges to the government and the authorities,” Abu Bakar said at the distribution of bubur lambok and breaking of fast at Darussalam Mosque in Long Lama on Thursday.

“Therefore, it is important for the community to be united, giving support and working together with the association for our welfare and well-being.

“The peace and harmonious living are possible because we have better understanding and high level of tolerance of each other’s differences. It is important for us to be united and work as a team not only among our own community but other communities to achieve our common goal,” added Abu Bakar who is also Darussalam Mosque committee chairman.

The events jointly organised by Saberkas Telang Usan branch and Darussalam Mosque committee were attended by around 100 Muslims and non-Muslims in Long Lama.
