MARUDI: State Commissioner of Police Datuk Mazlan Mansor yesterday made a working visit to Marudi Police Station, where he spent about two hours.

Upon arrival at the Marudi airstrip, he was greeted and welcomed by senior police officers led by Baram police chief DSP Gabriel Risut, who then escorted him to the police station.

While at the police station, Mazlan and his team were brought to several sections of the station where they were briefed by Gabriel.

After that, Mazlan had a closed-door meeting with the senior police officers.

Mazlan disclosed that there were plans to build a new police station in Marudi in view of its growing population.

He also said there was a need to increase personnel at the police station so as to be more effective in combating crime.
