KUCHING: In conjunction with the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, Smart Reader® Worldwide Sdn Bhd distributed over 1,000 containers of ‘bubur lambuk’ as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative on Wednesday.
The distribution was done at several mosques and suraus throughout Kuching and Kota Kinabalu namely Masjid Darul Qarar, Masjid Ibadah Kudei Lama, Masjid Al-Abyad Matang, Masjid At-Taqwa Matang, Masjid Darul Akmal Samariang and Masjid Ikhwanul Islam Samariang in Sarawak and Masjid Bukit Padang, Masjid Ar-Rahman Vista Minitod and Masjid Negeri Putatan in Kota Kinabalu.
“We are proud to be able to give back to the community. Besides that, this activity is a great effort to foster good relationship, the spirit of togetherness and spread warmth to the community,” said Business Development and Operations East Malaysia manager Norma John.
Muslim students of Smart Reader Kids® Taman Yen Yen and Smart Reader Kids® Jalan Rubber Road West also took part in distributing the ‘bubur lambuk’.
“Teaching kids about charity is our emphasis as it is a valuable lesson for the children to develop good habits in order to become better practising Muslims.
“It is important that children learn at an early age to be considerate to others and to show compassion. When educating them regarding charity, you teach them an important life lesson. We want them to know that even small actions can have a huge impact,” said franchisee Luqman Abdullah.
