Empty container catches fire

BINTULU: An empty container, placed in front of a factory at Jalan Sungai Plan, caught fire on Tuesday.

The Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call on the fire around 6.34pm.

Two fire engines with 13 firefighters led by Zulkifli Narawi were dispatched to the scene, located about 14km from here, and arrived at 6.50pm.

The firefighters managed to stop the fire from spreading to other structures at 6.59pm, and the whole operation ended around 30 minutes later.

The fire destroyed the container’s wooden floor.

The 40-foot container is located around 40 feet away from a building.
