MIRI: The Miri Amateur Radio Club (MARC) met with the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) here yesterday to discuss knowledge-sharing between the club and rescue agencies during search-and-rescue (SAR) operations.

Its chairman Vincent Lo said the meeting acted as a platform to share emergency communications set-up and planning which can assist the communication system during a SAR operation, especially in rural areas.

“Miri Amateur Radio Club will also assist in (providing) communication technical skills and training. This smart partnership is another milestone for MARC,” he said after leading a club delegation in paying a courtesy call to Bomba.

The delegation included MARC secretary Veronica Catherine Nohan and MARC technical-in-charge Stanley Sumping.
