KUCHING: The management of Kuching Waterfront will be preparing a special gift for the thousands of tourists expected at the Rainforest World Music Festival in Kuching this year.

According to a press release by the management, 2,000 specially printed, limited edition postcards will be distributed free to tourists at Kuching Waterfront this weekend.

The postcards, featuring four different designs, are from local artist Min Wee’s collection of sketches, and depict the Sarawak Museum, Brooke Dockyard, Upper China Street and the Old Court House.

“Volunteers will distribute these postcards throughout the weekend while stocks last.

“The cards come complete with stamps for tourists to send them to their friends back home in the hope that recipients from all over the world will get to know more about Kuching and Sarawak,” said the press release.

In today’s electronic world of impersonal instant messages, these  postcards – with personal handwritten messages – will be a welcome change and can be collectors’ items and reminders of the charm and history of the city of Kuching.
