MIRI: A man lodged a police report yesterday after finding out that his underage daughter was seven months’ pregnant.
The 15-year-old victim was believed to have been impregnated by her Indonesian boyfriend, whom she had befriended on Facebook some time last year. A source indicated the boyfriend had forced the girl to have sexual intercourse with him on several occasions, but vanished after finding out she was pregnant earlier this year.
The victim, meanwhile, did not inform the matter to her family for fear of being scolded, but eventually did so yesterday.
Deputy district police chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed receiving a report on the matter when met at the Central Police Station here yesterday.
“Police are now tracking the suspect, believed to be an Indonesian, who ran away to Bintulu,” he said.
