KUCHING: The TNB Sarawak Hockey League women’s draw heads into the homestretch this weekend.
It is the women’s penultimate weekend and the spotlight is squarely on them as they will play in seven of the eight matches.
Reunited HC and Excalibur HC have the unenviable task of having to play three times in two days which will finish their first round play.
The 1-1 Reunited will take to the Sarawak Hockey Stadium pitch in the weekend’s first match at 7.30am when they face unbeaten Luctor Mix.
After that tough match, Reunited have another mountain to climb against Hazicont-Alldiv who are unbeaten and yet to concede a goal after two matches.
They might consider changing their name to Hazicont-Allstars as the team features a who’s who of Sarawak’s top women players like Beatrice Sawin.
That match is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday.
Reunited will also be in the third week’s last match when they play Excalibur on Sunday at 4.30pm.
The fixture’s key match-up will see the two unbeaten teams Hazicont and Luctor clash on Sunday at 3pm.
Whoever wins that match should win the first round and will head into the playoffs with that extra edge.
Winless Excalibur’s first match is on Saturday morning against SMK Bako and their second is against CF Team in the afternoon.
Sunday morning will see CF Team play SMK Bako at 7.30am.
The only men’s match will see Group B leaders Excalibur HC play Greenian on Sunday morning.
