Musa satisfied with development projects implementation in Tenom

TENOM: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman is satisfied with the overall planning and implementation of development projects by government departments and agencies in the district.

“I am very pleased with the complete explanation on the development of this district,” he said when attending a development briefing by the district at the Sabah Agricultural Park in conjunction with his working visit to the district here yesterday.

The briefing about all developments implemented by the State and Federal government departments and agencies in the district was conducted by Tenom District Officer Madiyem Layapan.

He said it was also good and important to see the planning and implementation of projects carried out in every district.

“Through this briefing, every department and government agency understand their respective responsibilities.

“The Barisan Nasional (BN) government and its leaders are always going down to the ground to meet and understand the problems faced by the people,” he said.

He said as leaders they would also like to know what development was going on and what plans were made by the districts they visited.

Musa said he was happy and satisfied with the development being planned and implemented in this area.

He also officiated at the Herbal Park at the Sabah Agricultural Park.

The Herbal Park was planted with about 150 types of herbs.

Musa planted a tree organized by the Kota Kinabalu High Court.

Musa then visited the progress of the Kalanyaan Prosperous Estate Mini (Mesej) undertaken by the State Government through the Ministry of Rural Development.

The Mesej was planted with rubber trees through the Sabah Rubber Industry Board while the Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB) is currently building 33 houses.

Musa also launched the RM14 million Natanduan Bridge located near the Sabah Murut Cultural Center.

The bridge, built in 2012 and now in use, is about 90 metres long.

Musa also officiated at the ground breaking ceremony for the Tenom Hotel by Kianda Enterprise Sdn Bhd.

At the event, Musa also handed over the Approved Development Plan to the company’s manager, Kenny Yong.

Kenny said that the hotel’s existing building built in the 1960s would be demolished to give way to a new five-storey building and was expected to be completed within the next two years.

Earlier on, Musa visited Kampung Kapulu and Katubu in Mukim Rundum of Kemabong Sub-District besides taking a look at bridges constructed by timber companies to connnect Kampung Sumambu to Kampung Rundum, but the bridges are unsafe for road users.
