Firemen working hard to get Francis out from the wreck.
KOTA KINABALU: A 31-year-old mechanic was killed when his car overturned along Jalan Kampung Bulueng Topokon Tuaran early yesterday morning.
Francis Chin Foh Kiaw died at the scene of the accident that occurred at about 2am, Tuaran District Police Chief ASP Raji Hussin Suhodin said.
He said initial investigations revealed that Francis was driving from Tuaran town towards Kampung Topokon when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a mound of earth on the left side of the road.
The car overturned and Francis was pinned to the driver seat, Raji said, adding that the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1)(A) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
In another case which occurred in Telipok, four men were injured when the car they were travelling in crashed at the JPP roundabout in Telipok at about 2.45am Sunday.
They were sent to the Tuaran District Hospital for treatment.
