SIBU: Deputy managing director of KTS Group of Companies, Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau Lee Ming, wishes to see more of their staff here take part in the annual KTS Sports Carnival.

He thus hoped that the organiser and Kelab KTS Sibu would encourage the staff of various companies under the group who have yet to take part to do so.

“We have so many staff in KTS, I am sure that there are some staff who do not have the intention to participate.

“I think this is not right. I think as long as they are part of KTS, they should take part.

“I would like to ask the organiser and president (of Kelab KTS Sibu) to encourage those who have not taken part, (to participate), may be from next year.

“Because I feel that this is something very meaningful and I am sure a lot of people enjoy this sports carnival; enjoy the gathering like what we do tonight (Saturday).

“I want to appeal to those staff from whatever company (under KTS group) as long as you are residing in Sibu, I want you to take part,” Lau said when officiating at KTS Sports Carnival Dinner 2017 here on Saturday.

Also present were KTS Group of Companies chairman Lau Swee Nguong, Kelab KTS Sibu president Peter Lau, chairman Benny Lau, vice-chairman Michael Ting, KTS Trading Sdn Bhd (Light Machinery Department) general manager Augustine Ling, KTS Foodland Sdn Bhd general manager Peter Wong, KTS Trading Sdn Bhd senior executive Kevin Lau, and See Hua Marketing senior assistant manager Kueh Nguang Seng.

On another matter, Lau said despite the gloomy global economy, he believed that the management had been very careful in managing the business.

“That’s why we are able to weather fluctuations in the global environment,” he said.

He also pointed out that in any organisation people are the most important assets.

“I would like to take the opportunity on behalf of the management to thank the staff for all the hard work put in for the group to continue doing well.”

He reminded all staff that in view of the more challenging situation, they should put in more efforts to their work so that the group will continue to do well.

“This is because the company does not only belong to the top management, board of directors but belongs to everyone who is part of KTS.

“So, it is important that we all continue to work hard so that the company continues to grow and prosper,” Lau urged.

The sports carnival was held at Tun Zaidi Stadium here earlier in the day.

See Hua team was the winner in the treasure photo and table tennis competitions. KTS team won the bowling competition and telematch.

Foodland was the winner of the jogathon and archery competitions.

KTS was crowned the overall champion, while Foodland and See Hua were second and third respectively.
