Man missing at sea since Tuesday found alive

SIBU: A man from Kampung Badong in Daro, Mukah, who was reported missing at sea on Tuesday, was found alive yesterday.

A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said Ismail Jem, 55, was found at 8.52am by villagers of Kampung Pasin, Daro in a weakened state along the shoreline.

“The victim was weak when he was found by villagers because he had not eaten in two days.”

Kampung Pasin is located roughly two hours by boat from where Ismail was last seen.

Ismail was reported missing on Tuesday after failing to return home from sea.

A search and rescue operation was launched after a missing person’s report was made, involving Bomba, police, Civil Defence Force, and local villagers.
