Outstanding results for Sarawakian bodybuilders in Seoul

MIRI: Three Sarawakians representing Malaysia swept gold, a silver and two bronze medals in the Mr. Asia 2017 competition of the 51th Asian Bodybuilding Championships held in Seoul, South Korea yesterday.

Malvern Abdullah secured a gold medal in the Flyweight category while Buda Anchah secured the silver medal in the Lightweight category and Bronze in the Masters category while Awang Mohd Azizul secured the bronze in the Welterweight category.

The other Malaysian gold medalist is Mohd Syahrul Azman Mahen from Kuala Lumpur, who secured a gold medal in the Physique Athletic category.

Ahmad Faiz Ariffin took fifth place in the Physique Athletic category while the sole female contestant, Meilaura Dora, , together with Zamarul Al Adam did not make it to the finals.

Malaysian Bodybuilding Federation (MBBF) vice-president cum team manager, Jamilah Ibrahim when contacted in Korea yesterday was pleased with the achievement of the medalists.

Jamilah said, bagging two gold, a silver and two bronze medals was a proud achievement for Malaysia and hoped all relevant government agencies and corporate bodies would help support MBBF in future competitions.
