MARUDI: Juliana Sambai Sibat was crowned Ratu Baram Regatta 2017, outshining 19 other contestants in the finale on Saturday night.
Juliana, 24, of Iban-Kiput heritage from Kuala Tutoh wowed the judges with her grace, beauty and confidence to win the title and took home RM3,000 in prize money, a crown, sash and bouquet of flowers.
The newly crowned Ratu Baram Regatta also pocketed an additional RM500 cash after winning the Best Evening Gown subsidiary title.
The first runner-up was Natasha Shareen Pita, 18, of Marudi who took home RM2,000 in cash, a crown, sash and bouquet of flowers while the second runner-up was 21-year-old Nurul Anniya Shukri who walked away with RM1,000 in cash, a crown, sash and bouquet of flowers.
She also won the subsidiary title of Best Catwalk and received RM500 cash.
The third runner-up was Esther Livan who took home RM800 in cash while Viviana Leong, 25, of Long Tabing, Tinjar finished as fourth runner-up and received RM500 in cash.
The two also received a crown, sash and bouquet of flowers each.

Meanwhile, Maria Ping Snok and Linda Ibau won two other subsidiary titles, namely Miss Photogenic and Miss Body Beautiful respectively.
Each of them won RM500 cash for their efforts.
Among those present at the event were Marudi assemblyman Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, Baram MP Anyi Ngau and Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.
Apart from the beauty contest, the crowds were entertained with various cultural performances.
