MIRI: Now that they have triumphed in Asia, Sarawak’s Mr. Asia trio are eyeing honours when they take on the best in the world soon.

Malvern Abdullah beat other finalists from Myanmar, Vietnam, India and Indonesia to lift the Flyweight title at the recent Mr Asia championships.

“It will be a bonus for me if I can win gold at the Mr.World 2017 to be held in Mongolia,” he told The Borneo Post after returning from Seoul via Kuala Lumpur to Kuching on Sunday night.

Tough but not impossible. Malvern had already won a silver and then a bronze at Mr. World 2015 and 2016 respectively.

The 13-year veteran in the sport said he will start preparation immediately to ensure his body is maintained after the intensive training for Mr. Asia.

This includes dieting and intensive training in specific areas that needed improvement.

The other two Sarawakians who both won Mr Asia medals – Buda Anchah (bronze in Masters, silver in Lightweight) and Awang Mohd Azizul ( bronze in Welterweight) will also be vying for honours at the Mr. World 2017 in October.
