MASwings to address elements to help company progress – COO

KOTA KINABALU: MASwings will continue to address all the crucial elements that will help the company to progress further into achieving its focus.

Its chief operating officer (COO), Aminuddin Zakaria, said  among these are to enhance safety and security and its quality of service at every touch-point, such as at the airport, ticketing outlets and on board all of its flights.

“Managing an airline such as MASwings is very challenging. Throughout this year, we have gone through leaps and bounds to ensure only the best to all our stakeholders,” he said during the launching of the Negaraku livery on MASwings ATR aircraft.

MASwings first announced its commitment towards the ‘Ekspresi Negaraku’ movement back in May this year, in conjunction with the launching of MASwings’ latest cabin crew uniform held in Kuching by the wife of Sarawak Chief Minister, Datin Amar Datuk Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang.

Since then, the initiatives, which are mooted and inspired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, aimed at instilling the spirit of patriotism nationwide has been widely used and promoted in MASwings’ various touch-points, both on the ground and online, through its promotional items such as buntings.

“Being one of subsidiaries of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), MASwings is very proud to be part of the Negaraku initiative, a symbol of unity amongst Malaysians and a movement that reminds us all of the love we have for our country and each other.

“Unity and love for our country lies at the very heart of MASwings, a company that is very much part of the fabric and community of Sabah, Sarawak as well as the Federal Territory of Labuan.

“We are aware of the very important job we serve for the rural community here, uniting families and friends from the cities to most remote parts. You see here today our team of staff, a family, who are aware and proud of this responsibility. A small diverse but united family who work hard to ensure MASwings run smoothly and safely, working round the clock and often at the expense of our own family time,” he said.

Moving forward in realising the commitment towards the Negaraku initiative, echoing the move taken by its sister company, Malaysia Airlines Berhad, last July, Aminuddin said, it is their aim to have at least one of MASwings’ aircraft soaring the skies of Sabah and Sarawak and Labuan in the colours of the Jalur Gemilang.
