KUCHING: The state government is running a Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS) logo design contest.
A press release yesterday said Sarawakians aged 18 and above can take part in the contest to win RM5,000 plus a certificate of participation.
There are also five consolation prizes of RM1,000 each plus certificates.
Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg mooted the contest in connection with the launching of DBOS later this year.
The objectives of the contest are to raise awareness of DBOS, to involve Sarawakians in the establishment of the bank, and to gauge the creativity of Sarawakians in creating a logo for the first Sarawak-owned financial institution.
The logo must have a clean and professional design that incorporates the acronym ‘DBOS’ and the words ‘Development Bank of Sarawak’.
The logo must not have any element that could be considered negative or sensitive to anyone, while the choice of colours must be distinctive.

All logos received by the organising committee will be the property of the state government and the secretariat has the right to make amendments to any part of the logo.
Entries must be submitted with explanations on the meaning of the logo design elements and colours.
Participation is free and participants can send in as many entries as they wish but only one logo will be chosen as the main winner.
The logo design must also be original.
