UCTS students in South Korea for robot tech contest

SIBU: Three University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) students are participating in the International Robot Contest 2017 event in South Korea which began yesterday and will end on Sept 16.

They are Jack Chung Chen Ong from the School of Engineering and Technology, Timothy Sia Kee Hieng and Chan You Pui, both from the School of Computing.

They are accompanied by UCTS electrical and electronics engineering programme head associate professor Dr Abdul Razak Yaacob, and electrical and electronics engineering senior lecturer Tonny Ling Heng Yew.

“The emphasis of this International Robot Contest is creativity, logical thinking, problem solving, interaction between sensors technology and artificial intelligence.

“Students can demonstrate the concepts and skills that are required for the understanding of intelligent information-based technology,” said UCTS in a press statement.
