LIMBANG: A local man was arrested on suspicion of receiving illegal lottery bets near an eating outlet at Jalan Buangsiul here recently.
District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the suspect, 31, was caught red-handed accepting a bet from a customer.
“Upon seeing the suspect selling the illegal lottery to his client, police sprang into action and arrested him.
“Also confiscated were RM110 cash, a mobile phone and several gadgets used for the illegal operation,” said Mohd Bukhori.
He added the case is being investigated under Section 4A(a) of the Common Gaming House Act 1953.
