SIBU: The two men (grandfather and uncle) who were separately indicted under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were produced in the Sessions Court here yesterday.
The 53-year-old grandfather is facing four charges while the uncle, 25, is facing five charges.
The older man allegedly touched the vagina of his seven-year-old granddaughter in May, June, July and August at their longhouse in Sungai Durin near here.
The offence is punishable under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and Section 16 of the same Act.
Four of the charges against the younger man are similar to the charges indicted against the older man.
Another charge against the younger accused is that he let his niece watch pornographic video clips on his handphone between May and August this year.
The charge is framed under Section 15 of the same Act.
Judge Caroline Bee Majanil set Oct 20 for pre-trial case management.
Meanwhile, another man who faced two charges under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act, 2017 also pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The 53-year-old accused was charged under Section 14 of the Act for touching the private parts of a 17-year-old disabled girl at Bukit Lima Sports Complex here between 9.30am and 11am on Sept 7.
The second charge alleged that he masturbated in front of the girl at the same time and place, which is an offence framed under Section 15 of the same Act.
The judge also fixed Oct 20 for pre-trial case management.
