KUCHING: Local artistes are set to wow concert-goers at the Kanowit Festival Concert on Sept 30 at the Kanowit Main Bazaar starting 6.30pm.
The concert is held in conjunction with the 54th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia.
A press release yesterday said Kanowit is believed to be the only town in Sarawak to host such an event annually since 2003.
Organisers promise an even grander and more captivating concert this year as judges for ‘Astro Classic Golden Melody’ and ‘Hua Hee Karaoke’ have been invited to direct and plan this year’s festival.
The artistes include Anugerah Industri Music (AIM) Best Local Female Singer 2016 Angeline Wong; Astro Classic Golden Melody champion Irene Tam; Astro Classic Golden Melody Most Popular Singer Amy Chan; Astro Star Quest champion Crystal Liew; Bai Lin, who is known as the ‘Singing Queen of China’; and talented pop singer Felix Choong.
Also in the line-up of performers are Iban singers Linda, Hailey, and Mark Benet. Popular dance group Idea Dance Entertainment is also scheduled to perform.
This year’s Kanowit Festival Concert will offer a mixture of oldies and pop music.
