PBS Membakut Division is still intact

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has not lost its Membakut division. It is still intact and operational.

The party’s executive secretary, Mesilus Roman in disclosing this yesterday, said the division is business as usual under the leadership of its division chief, Runtian Medan.

“A recent news report saying that the PBS N24 Membakut Division has been dissolved following the exit of its division chief, Egol Onsim, is not true.

“He (Egol) is the former division chief. So by right, he has no locus standi to dissolve the Membakut division. Obviously, it is just another tactic to confuse the people as if PBS is losing support,” said Roman.

A recent news report stated that Egol had led over 1,000 members to ditch PBS to join Parti Warisan, including the Wanita and Youth wings.

They handed over their forms during a meet-the-people-gathering at Kampung Bandau to the party president, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, who graced the occasion.

“There is no truth to their statement that PBS Membakut has tutup kedai (closed shop),” Roman added.

He said such action showed that Parti Warisan was desperate for attention.

“And they are willing to make fake allegations to get attention. What’s important for them  was quantity over quality,” said Roman.

Roman, meanwhile, called on PBS members to continue supporting the party and not be enticed by the “too good to be true” offers from the opposition.

“PBS has not deviated from its core struggles, and that is to protect the rights of Sabah and Sabahans,” he said.
