MIRI: Miri District Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit (BSJND) personnel arrested a 29-year-old man yesterday (Sept 28) for having 38 packets of a crystalline substance believed to be Syabu, weighing a total 10.33g.

Deputy district police chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the suspect was arrested at a house in Kampung Tudan near Lutong here around 9.30am.

“Police found nothing from a body inspection of the suspect. They then inspected the house and found an aluminium tin inside the kitchen cabinet containing 38 packets of a crystalline substance believed to be Syabu, worth about RM2,000,” said Stanley.

Stanley revealed that the suspect, a Chinese from Kampung Tudan, tested positive for methamphamine and will be investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
