Ex-airline duty manager detained for flight ticket sale scam

KUCHING: A former duty manager of an airline company is currently on a four-day remand to assist in the investigation of a flight ticket sale scam.

The remand order was issued yesterday by Magistrate Portia Tham Ong Leng against the 35-year-old woman, who is three-month pregnant.

The accused was arrested at 3.30pm in Petra Jaya near here on Thursday, following five police reports lodged against her.

The remand order’s application was made by Insp Hazimah Masjaya. The suspect was not represented in her appearance at the magistrates’ court  yesterday.

Meanwhile, state Commercial Crime Investigation Department head Supt Mustafa Kamal Hani Abdullah said they received another three similar reports against the accused.

“Altogether, there are nine reports against her, including the three reports made today (yesterday),” he told The Borneo Post, disclosing further that five of the reports were made in Kuching, two in Padawan and one in Sibu.

The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
