SIBU: A two-week Kuntau self-defence course held here recently attracted 11 martial art enthusiasts.
Kuntau techniques like ‘Lapis Spring 24’, ‘Penchak Spring’ and ‘Harimau Garang’ were taught. Speaking at the end of the course, master Guro Nading reminded the participants not to misuse kuntau which has been the Iban’s martial art since time immemorial.
“The martial art should be used for self-defence and not to show off and harm others,” he said.
Guro also called for more efforts to keep this martial art form alive.
