CYBERJAYA: Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is currently investigating the report on the advertised sale of user data on a forum.
In a statement issued this afternoon, MCMC said it is looking into the matter together with the police and had requested that the admin of lowyat.net take down the advertisement. The admin of the site had cooperated and remove the advertisement and related article.
MCMC urged all quarters not to speculate on the matter until the authorities have completed investigations accordingly.
