The Borneo Post win bowling challenge at Megalanes Sarawak

KUCHING: The Borneo Post won the Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian Media Bowling Challenge at Megalanes Sarawak, Batu Kawa on Wednesday night.

The team comprising chief reporter Churchill Edward Drem, photographer Chimon Upon, crime reporter Daryl Law and sports reporter Ting Tieng Hee knocked down a total of 1,026 pins over two games to beat 19 other teams from the media.

Daryl Law was third in the men’s individual category when he posted a score of 308 pins, finishing behind Shairazi of KL Express Team (338) and Taha Kassim of Utusan Borneo (334).

Utusan Borneo’s Taha Kassim, Sulaiman Bujang, Nick Fletcher and Bigol Sulang knocked down 994 pins to finish second and coming in third place with 986 pins were MBC 1’s Noraida, Awang Mohd Razif, Aziz Harun and Izwan Shahmizi.

Winners of the encouragement prizes were Utusan Malaysia-Cosmo, KL Express Team and Utusan Sarawak. The women’s singles champion was Siti Aida Alek of RTM C who scored 233 pins, followed by Lim Lee Ling of International Times (212) and Haini of Utusan Sarawak (196).

Sim, who also played in the bowling challenge participated by 80 members of the media, gave away the prizes.
