Kuching FA signs MoU with Park Jisung Foundation

KUCHING: Kuching Football Assocation on Sunday inked a memorandum of understanding with Seoul-based JiSung Foundation which is involved in football development throughout Asia.

For a start the MOU with the foundation, which is chaired by former Manchester United star Park JiSung, will see Kuching FA sending its Under-14 players for short training stint at the Park Jisung Football Centre and invitation for Kuching FA to participate in the annual JiSung Cup next year.

Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah was present to witness the signing ceremony between Kuching FA which was represented by its chairman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman and the foundation’s Park Sungjong, father of Jisung.

The ceremony took place in conjunction with the Seoul All Stars charity football match which saw K-Pop singers and South Korean footballers play a football match with Kuching FA, CatsFM and the Football Association of Sarawak team at Stadium Sarawak.

The match was played in intervals with stage performances in between. More than 2,000 local K-Pop and football fans attended.
