Firms sign MOU to develop a modern agriculture industrial park in Tanjung Manis

KUCHING: Local property developer Tecktonic & Sons Holdings Sdn Bhd has formalised its collaboration with Zhong Ya Hao Xiang (Holdings) Sdn Bhd from Jiang Xi, China to develop a modern agriculture industrial park in Tanjung Manis.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the collaboration was signed by Tecktonic & Sons managing director Lee Chin Teck and Zhong Ya Hao Xiang chairman Xu Qiran in a ceremony witnessed by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at a leading hotel here yesterday.

Xu, an expert in downstream food processing and manufacturing, has spent two years in Kuching and Tanjung Manis.

The collaboration will see a piece of land measuring 279 acres in Tanjung Manis being developed for this high tech agriculture park.

Zhong Ya Hao Xiang would be investing USD130 million (RM550 million) in the first phase of the development.

The project, which is expected to be completed in two years, aims to bring entrepreneurs from Jiang Xi province to Tanjung Manis for the halal food processing and manufacturing activities.

Lee revealed that Tecktonic & Sons will be the main contractor in establishing the infrastructure.

Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datu Len Talif Salleh, Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) general manager Datu Sarudu Hoklai, Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province consultant Huang Xueqin and Bureau of Commerce of Jiu Jiang City consultant Zou Yuli were among those present.
