KUCHING: A search-and-rescue (SAR) operation has been activated to locate a missing two-year-old boy who disappeared from his house at Kampung Ruan Baru, Simujan.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) state assistant operations director Tiong Ling Hii said as of 5pm yesterday, there has been no trace of Desmen Davei despite eight hours of searching.
“The SAR operation was postponed at 5pm and will resume tomorrow (today).
“The operation is divided into three groups, focusing on the nearby jungle and village compound within a three-kilometre radius of the victim’s house,” he said.
The toddler was last seen at 1pm on Monday. He had just been bathed by his grandmother, and was seated in the living room before vanishing a few minutes later.
Upon realising his disappearance, family members mounted a search but found no trace of him.
