KUCHING: The Malaysian Institute of Planners Sarawak and Sabah Chapter has presented a possible public transport network design for Kuching to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

A delegation from the institute paid a courtesy call on Abang Johari at his office in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex on Tuesday.

Led by chairman Victor Lai, the delegation participated in a fruitful discussion with the chief minister, who was briefed on the chapter’s role and background.

“We also presented to the chief minister our conceptual idea for Kuching’s public transport network where we planned and designed a possible Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) network on a map for him,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.

Lai also presented Abang Johari with the conceptualised public transport network map as a memento.
