MIRI: The Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) ‘Golden Family Day’ is a time for the cancer patients and their families as well as the medical team to let their hair down and foster closer ties with one another.
This year’s gathering, which took place at Marriott Resort & Spa here yesterday, hosted various activities, where SCCS president Jocelyn Hee and Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) oncologist Dr Ong Gek Bee also joined in the fun.
“The Golden Family Day is one of the important events on the SCCS calendar, where it provides the patients and their families an avenue to get away from the physical and emotional trauma of the cancer treatment process.
“We have always been looking forward to the event,” Hee said.
The gathering here also included a small birthday celebration for several individuals.
