KUCHING: Staff members of Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development (MIED) must not only understand the latest technologies, but also follow the progress in line with the current needs of the industry.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, this includes having the staff upgrade their knowledge in relevant fields.

“We need to convince the investors and industry players, especially those involved in digital economy. This is why you need to upgrade your knowledge,” he spoke in officiating at the opening of ‘MIED Cultural Transformation Programme’ in Santubong near here on Saturday.

Adding on, Awang Tengah – also Industrial and Entrepreneur Development Minister – expressed his hope that MIED would not be left out as far as the advancement of technologies, digital economy and Industry 4.0 are concerned.

He believed that by organising more programmes, MIED should be able to achieve its targets.

“I hope that all those attached under MIED would remain committed to and competitive towards realising their targets. We must boost our efforts,” he said.

Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and Small, Medium Enterprise Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais was also present at the ceremony.
