MIRI: A total of 32 swimmers from the Miri Amateur Swimming Association (Masa) will be participating in this years’ Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Wong Soon Kai Inter-Club Swimming Championship from Dec 2 to 3 in Bintulu.
The team comprises of 24 boys and eight girls.
Team manager Jackie Pang said Masa is hoping to do better this year after finishing seventh in last year’s tournament.
“Some of our athletes are first-timer to the tournament as this tournament is for novice. Our team would depart for Bintulu on Dec 1 and will be coming back on Dec 3,” Jackie said.
Jackie also thanked sponsors Miri Belait Transport company Sdn Bhd for partially sponsoring their trip and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sibuti for the team’s T-shirt.
“We would also like to thank the parents for their continuous support towards our team,” she added.
