SIBU: People who are able to convey their thoughts and emotions well have many advantages in life.

In saying this, Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau Lee Ming, advised toastmasters to improve their skills in communication of thoughts and feelings.

“I acknowledge that not everyone has the public speaking skill. Speaking in front of people is not always easy.  Not many people can do that,” he said at the inauguration of the new office-bearers of Hin Hua Pou Sen Association’s Toastmasters Club at a restaurant here on Sunday evening.

The installation ceremony was conducted by Toastmasters International District 87 Division Area S1 director Kellie Tiong Ing King Meanwhile, Lau Wang Mee was sworn in as the new president, taking over from So Teck Kee.

To the new office-bearers, Lau advised them to polish their public speaking skills, saying good leaders must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.

He expressed confidence in the toastmasters club in producing more people good in public speaking.

So, who also spoke, echoed Lau’s call to the people to join the club, saying it provided regular training in public speaking.
