LBR Miri ‘ready’ for Sibu FA on Dec 23

MIRI: The LBR Miri team coasted to a comfortable 4-2 victory over Wisma RSC in the Miri-LSC Football League final at Petroleum Recreational Club (KRP) in Lutong last Sunday.

The match between LBR Miri’s mixture of young and some senior players against an experienced Wisma RSC squad delighted Miri head coach Mohd Hakimi Man who spoke on Miri’s football ‘DNA’.

“Looking at the pattern of play from both teams, I can conclude that Miri football is on the right track to continue shining,” he said yesterday.

Scorers for LBR Miri in the match were Fairul Adi (13th and 88th min), Mohd Haizam (55th min) and M Fadhlur (74th min) while Syahiran Tamit and Roslan netted for Wisma RSC in the 31st and 50th min.

Fairul and Syahiran also emerged as tournament top scorers with four goals a piece while Haizam was named the best player in the final.

Perdanaku and 12PGA were second and third in the league.

Prizes were given out by Amirul Asraf Talip of Sylmax HCS Sdn Bhd and Yek Su Ling of Lea Sports Centre as league sponsors.

Meanwhile, coach Mohd Hakimi confidently asserted that LBR Miri “are ready to deal with” their match against Sibu FA in the Liga Bolasepak Rakyat (LBR) on their home turf on Dec 23.

“For football fans here, come in droves to witness the match and receive a Christmas gift from the Miri team, victory,” he added.
