LIMBANG: Facilities at the Limbang District Council (LDC) football field have been upgraded at a cost of RM100,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

According to Assistant Minister of Agriculture Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail who is also Limbang Football Association (LFA) president, other sports facilities in Limbang District will also be upgraded soon.

“Limbang has three football fields which are the main venues for organising football tournaments here.

“For that purpose a total of RM100,000 was spent for upgrading the LDC field including its drainage system,” he said after the final match for the Youth Under 19 League on Wednesday.

Also present were LDC walikota Sufian Mohat, vice-president of LFA Bulhaji Wahab and LFA’s exco members.

Dr Abdul Rahman said the youth league was one of the best platforms to harness potentials of players to prepare them for higher level tournaments.

In the tournament, ABC III team emerged champion after defeating Mevec from Lawas 2-0.
