KTS Group treats outgoing China’s consul-general in Kuching to luncheon

KUCHING: Outgoing China’s  consul-general in Kuching Fu Jijun and his wife Liu Sha were treated to a luncheon by KTS Group at KTS Garden here yesterday.

The simple yet significant event was meant to extend appreciation to Fu for his contributions in fostering closer ties between Sarawak and China.

Minister of International Trade and E-Commerce Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh and wife Datin Sri Pauline Leong, as well as Kuching South mayor Datuk James Chan and wife Datin Catherine S’ng were among those present.

Representing KTS Group were its managing director Dato Henry Lau, wife Datin Wendy Lau, Henry’s mother Datin Sri Wong Suk Ting, deputy managing directors Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau, who is also chairman of the United Chinese School Committees’ Association (Dong Zong) and Stephen Lau.

President of Federation of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division Chinese Associations Dato Richard Wee and wife Datin Donna Drury Wee as well as China’s deputy consul-general in Kuching Zhang Yang and consul Jiang Ying were also present.

Fu will serve in Libya after this after fulfilling his two-year tenure here.

He was appointed China’s consul-general in Kuching in January last year to succeed Liu Quan, who served from May 2013 to January 2016.

Fu is the eighth consul-general of China in Kuching.
