KUALA LUMPUR: Axiata Group Bhd and its group of companies recently reaffirmed their pledge to be free from corruption.
The group – comprising operating companies of Celcom Axiata Bhd, Axiata Business Services Sdn Bhd, Axiata Digital Services Sdn Bhd and edotco Group Sdn Bhd – pledged to practise and uphold the highest levels of integrity and corporate governance as one of Malaysia’s leading corporates with a presence in 11 countries across Asean and South Asia.
Axiata president/group chief executive officer, Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim, led his senior management team and group employees in making the pledge in the presence of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Director of Community Education Department, Datuk Abdul Samat Kasah here yesterday.
“As both a leading international telecommunications group and a government-linked company, Axiata is honoured to be a part of this move driving towards greater levels of transparency, governance, integrity and ethical standards, not just in Malaysia, but across all of our markets,” said Jamaludin.
Axiata has been recognised for its excellence in corporate governance by the Malaysian Shareholders Watchdog Group as being in the top 10 in corporate governance.
Axiata also ranked among the top 15 in the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance for 2017. — Bernama
