KAPIT: The RM2.1 billion allocation for development projects in the division under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) has been attributed to Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali said this is because Nanta, who is Kapit Member of Parliament, has a good relationship with the Federal Government.

“Kapit folks are benefitting because Datuk Nanta is able to bring many projects to Kapit. Thus to reciprocate, we ought to support Datuk Nanta.

“In the upcoming election, we must support Datuk Nanta to make sure he stays in the Federal Government because the working relationship is very important to get more funding to implement projects in Kapit,” she said during a dinner with Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kapit women’s wing on Tuesday.

“I have seen such great development here. I had the chance to visit the kampungs. It’s because our BN (Barisan Nasional) elected representatives are people-centric and always working hard for the good of the people.”

Sharifah Hasidah also pointed out that women are important assets for PBB and the country.

“Women are a great force to be reckoned with. Women are loyal to the BN government,” she said.

She called on all PBB women to campaign for the BN candidates here – Nanta and Hulu Rajang member of parliament Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong.

“Women at the grassroots make PBB strong because we are the pillars of the party,” she said.
