SGH to hold blood donation campaign from Jan 27-28

Special parking lots for blood donors at SGH Kuching Blood Bank.

KUCHING: Sarawak General Hospital’s (SGH) Kuching Blood Bank will be conducting a blood donation campaign at various locations in Kuching from Jan 27-28.

According to a press statement from SGH yesterday, the first venue on Jan 27 will be at Surau Darul Hijrah, Bandar Baru Samariang. It is organised by the Surau. The public around Bandar Baru Samariang can donate blood from 9am to 2pm.

Another venue on the same day will be Eastern Mall, Batu 17, Jalan Kuching-Serian, open from 10am-3pm. It is organised by SGH Blood Bank.

The next day on Jan 28, the campaign from 10am-2pm will be held at the Glassroom, second floor of Boulevard Shopping Mall. It is organised by Kuching Lifecare Society.

On the same day, it will be held from 10am-2pm at St Mark’s Church, Jalan Batu Kawa. It is organised by the church itself.

Those who cannot make it at the various locations during the campaign can come to SGH Kuching Blood Bank during office hours from 8am-4.30pm.

Special parking lots in front of SGH Kuching Blood Bank will be reserved for donors.

SGH Kuching Blood Bank needs continuous supply of B, A, O and AB blood groups for patients. At the moment it is short of B and O groups.

Donors are advised to get enough rest and sleep (minimum five hours). They are also encouraged to have a meal before donating.
