MDEC to collaborate with iCube to develop local technopreneurs

KUCHING: A delegation of Board Members and Senior Management of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) led by its chairman Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan made an official visit to iCube Innovation (iCube) here yesterday.

The visit was aimed at exchanging ideas with regard to the development of technopreneurship in Sarawak through collaboration between MDEC and iCube.

A statement from iCube said this collaborative effort is to build a sustainable ecosystem for technopreneurs in Sarawak.

During the sharing session, both MDEC and iCube shared ideas of how to develop and groom talents.

MDEC’s chief executive officer Datuk Yasmin Mahmood and MDEC board members are said to be impressed with the work done by iCube for Sarawak.

Three local tech startups namely Food Hero, EZ Food Delivery and OTTIMO were also invited by iCube to do a short presentation during the session.

“Everyone was excited and eager to share their feedback and guidance to the three local tech startups on how to further develop their business.

“MDEC was very impressed on the diversity that we have in Sarawak and that is what makes us unique,” said iCube in the statement.

It added there are lots of potential and opportunity for young entrepreneurs to excel in line with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s vision to realise a ‘Digital Sarawak’.
