New AirAsia route connecting Kuala Lumpur and Davao commences

DAVAO: AirAsia Bhd (AirAsia) on Thursday officiated the recently launched route from Kuala Lumpur to Davao, Philippines. The route now operates with four times weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur to the vibrant city of Davao.

A press conference was held to officiate the Kuala Lumpur – Davao route attended by Mayor of Davao City Sara Z Duterte-Carpio, Tourism Assistant Secretary Eden Josephine L. David, AirAsia Deputy Group CEO – Digital, Transformation, Corporate Services Aireen Omar and AirAsia Malaysia CEO  Riad Asmat.

Aireen said, “AirAsia is excited about our first international route to Davao.

“We do not only connect Davao to Malaysia, but we also bring Davao closer to our extensive network of destinations in Asean, Northeast Asia, South Asia, Australasia, the Middle East and the US.

“We are committed to growing tourism beyond the most famous tourism hotspots. We look forward to work closely with the Davao City Mayor, airport authorities and government bodies to put Davao on the map of must-visit destinations in Asean,” she added.

Celebratory all-in-fares from RM169 onwards one-way are available for booking online at airasia.com from now until February 18, 2018 for the travel period between now until July 31, 2018.

The promotional fares are also available on AirAsia’s mobile app on iPhone and Android devices, as well as mobile site at mobile.airasia.com. The new route signifies the third direct route from Malaysia to the Philippines after Manila and Cebu. AirAsia also connects guests to other cities in the Philippines including Clark, Manila, Caticlan, Kalibo, Tacloban, Palawan, Cebu and Tagbilaran.
