BINTULU: Police seized Ecstasy and Erimine 5 pills worth over RM20,000 following the arrest of a local man on Monday.

District police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said the 29-year-old suspected drug pusher was detained around 2.20pm while seated in a car at a parking lot in the older part of town.

“A body search did not uncover anything illegal. However, a subsequent inspection of his

rented house at Ecorich Garden found drugs hidden in his bedroom,” he told reporters yesterday.

Zulkipli revealed that police proceeded to seize 205 Ecstasy pills and 200 Erimine 5 pills worth an estimated RM20,400, and are now probing the case under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the mandatory death penalty upon conviction.

“The suspect, who has no previous criminal record, admitted the drugs belonged to him.

“He also tested positive for drug use,” he added.

Police are currently working to determine where the suspect obtained the drugs, and have obtained a seven-day remand order against him.
