BINTULU: The water level at some areas here declined yesterday, with a previously inundated road now accessible to four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bintulu chief Mohamad Meramit said monitoring of upstream areas yesterday revealed that water levels are starting to go down.

“Flood monitoring in the upstream area found that water trends have declined by over four feet.

“Some roads are accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles and heavy vehicles.

“The situation at SK Sungai Setiam is beginning to improve, although the school’s hostel and field are still flooded,” he said.

Mohamad added that Bomba personnel had delivered food items to Rumha Alam and Rumah Giri Ulu Segan.
