Be sure to display pink price tags for controlled items, KPDNKK reminds traders

SARIKEI: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) is reminding local traders to ensure that they display pink price tags to indicate the 13 controlled items listed under the Price Control Scheme.

A statement issued by KPDNKK Sarikei office yesterday said apart from displaying the pink price tags, traders must also ensure that there would be sufficient stock of the price-controlled items as well as the usage of certified weighing and measuring equipment.

The ministry’s reminder was issued in connection with the official launch of the Chinese New Year Festive Season Price Control Scheme 2018 at the central market here yesterday by Sarikei Resident Mohd Junaidi Mohidin.

The 13 listed items, which must be sold below the fixed ceiling price, include chicken, chicken eggs, imported round cabbage, seafood and pork.

Traders who fail to comply with the scheme will have action taken against them by under the Price Control and Anti Profiteering Act 2011.
