KUCHING: The Persatuan Badminton Bumiputera Negeri Sarawak (PBBS) will be organising the Sarawak Closed Badminton Competition from Mar 16-18 at PBBS badminton hall at Jalan Sultan Tengah, Petra Jaya.
It is open to all players of Malaysians born in Sarawak and those who have stayed in Sarawak for at least 90 days before the competition dates.
Based on a knockout system, the competition is divided into Men’s Open singles and doubles, Women’s Open singles and doubles as well as Men’s Veteran doubles and Women’s Veteran doubles.
Men’s Open singles and Women’s Open singles champions will receive RM800 and medals, the first runner-up receiving RM500 and medals, with the joint thirds each getting RM200 and medals.
As for the winners of the Men’s Open doubles, Women’s Open doubles and Men’s Veteran doubles, they shall receive RM1,000 and medals, first runners-up RM600 and medals while the joint thirds will get RM200 and medals.
The champion of the Women’s Veteran doubles will receive RM600 and medals while the second placing shall get RM400 and medals, and the joint thirds to get RM150 and medals.
Entry fee for Men’s Open singles, Women’s Open singles and Women’s Veteran doubles is RM60 while the entry fees for Men’s Open doubles, Women’s Open doubles and Men’s Veteran doubles is RM60.
Entry forms are available from CS Sports Enterprise and Ambok Maek (019-2216659) and the closing date to submit entries is Mar 12 at 5pm.
The draw will be conducted on Mar 15 at 7:30pm at PBBS meeting room.
