KOTA KINABALU: Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun has reiterated that his ministry had been advocating for the protection of marine life such as sharks for years.

He said sharks in the wild were attracting more tourists and said the diving industry was a million ringgit in Sabah.

He added that people came because they wanted to see sharks in the wild. A dead shark is only worth RM600, he said.

However, a shark alive is able to attract millions of ringgit, he said.
