KOTA KINABALU: All preparations for the 14th General Election in Sabah are ready.
“All our equipment are ready. We are on track. There is no big problem,” Sabah Election Commission Assistant Director, Yeozree Izwan Datuk Jemil said yesterday.
He said they were now carrying out final briefings, including refresher briefings for the returning officers and polling station heads.
He added that all the necessary briefings were already carried out last year. A total of 20,000 personnel will be involved in the running of the 14th General Election.
There are 1,119,009 registered voters in the upcoming election compared to 981,814 in the 13th General Election.
He also said that candidates would not be allowed to withdraw their candidature after the closing time for nomination.
