Samajaya Nature Reserve partly closed for upgrading works

KUCHING: Sarawak Forestry Corporation yesterday announced the partial closure of Samajaya Nature Reserve with immediate effect to make way for a major development project.

The project, namely ‘Establishment of TPA – Proposed repair and upgrading works of various facilities at Samajaya Nature Reserve (Contract No: SFCSB/T2017/25)’, affects all the main structures and facilities thereat with a period of 15 months to complete.

The affected structures are the Activity Centre, Bamboo Museum, Japanese Garden and the jogging tracks. However, part of the jogging tracks will be re-routed in stages throughout the period so as to enable it to remain open for public use.

As the safety aspects are of utmost concerns, the public are advised to adhere strictly to all the safety notices, barricades and directional signage at all times while undertaking activities within the nature reserve area.
